holmwood house

Holmwood house is the best surviving example of Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson’s residential architecture and it required a much needed space for education about the wider Thomson offer in Glasgow.

What Did We do?

This National Trust for Scotland learning space includes activities for all ages and learning styles. A film provides context for the time Holmwood was built and investigates Thomson’s ornate styling. An interactive map and table, encourages visitors to explore design and build through Greek details and simple building blocks.

Dedicated to a wonderful human, Iain McGillivray, who was a compassionate, engaging man and a great advocate and lover of the building.
